AFC Food Relief Donation In Bindura-Gweshe

The lockdown period emanating from the effects of the COVID 19 pandemic has undoubtedly affected lives and livelihoods across many rural communities. Understanding the impact of COVID-19 is crucial when considering the long-term future of our rural communities as they have less capacity to cope economically since many households were deprived of their main source of income.

As part of the Agape Family Care Livelihoods Programme; Ruth Emmanuel-Makandiwa reached out the rural communities of Bindura including Gweshe Area where UFIC Bindura City has a sub-branch.

The distributed commodities targeted at the elderly within the community included 10kg Mealie Meal, 2 Litres Cooking Oil, 1 Bar Laundry Soap, 1kg Sugar Beans, 1kg Fine Salt and 2kg Sugar. The commodities were well appreciated considering that these families were also indirectly affected by the effects of COVID19.
