UFIC Kwekwe region in conjunction with AGAPE recently made a donation for the elderly at MBIZO Old People’s Home.

 

The home is a cluster of 15 elderly and disabled led families. It’s located in one of Kwekwe City’s oldest location, called ME. It’s a cluster of homes being shared by different families. Since the families are headed by the elderly and disabled, most of them are in abject poverty. They can hardly afford a decent meal per day. This has resulted in these elderly citizens moving around town begging for food to feed their families.

 

The assessment also revealed that most of them did not have enough blankets for their families. The ones they had were worn out blankets. The families also needed buckets to store water for household chores as well as for drinking water.

 

The donated items were as follows: Blankets, Mealie Meal, Cooking Oil, Rice, Sugar, Washing Soap, Sugar Beans, Salt, Plastic Laundry Dishes as well as Plastic Water Buckets.
