#ReachOut AFC’s 2020 Gender Based Violence Campaign

The 2020 edition of the Gender Based Violence Awareness Campaign had the hashtag #ReachOut. The aim was for women to break the silence and speak out. The program gave the attendees understanding of Gender Based Violence as well as access to information.

This allowed the women to open up thereby kick starting the healing process. All the professional speakers that included a Lawyer, A Victim Friendly Officer and a State Registered Nurse gave traceable steps on how victims of abuse can access help. The attendees also received information on how to protect themselves from abusive and violent environments.

The women were also inspired by a testimony of a Mother whose daughter was a victim of child abuse. Her testimonial also included Ruth Emmanuel-Makandiwa through Agape Family Care’s intervention and how she was also empowered.
