#GirlChildSheCan AFC Supporting Young Girls In Muzarabani

For many young rural girls; their menstrual cycle is their most dreaded time of the month. Their periods, which are a normal bodily function, become an unbearable trauma for them because they do not have access to hygienic sanitary wear.

With many rural families struggling for the basic needs of life; a sanitary napkin is the last thing on the minds of most. Through the #GirlChildSheCan Campaign; Ruth Emmanuel-Makandiwa seeks to ensure that the girl child is catered for and gets adequate support towards their menstrual health and hygiene.

Girls should be able to safeguard their own health without experiencing stress, shame, or unnecessary barriers to information or supplies during menstruation.

During the Emergency Relief distribution in Muzarabani girls within the district had their own empowerment session where they were taught on the ‘POWER OF NO’. They also had the privilege of receiving the valuable package that saves many girls from incidents of helplessness and indignity.
