AFC 2020 Scholarship Beneficiary from Vuma, Binga: Patience Siabugwacha

Growing up in Vuma, Binga, Patience Janet Siabugwacha was a young girl full of dreams and passion. Despite the challenges she faced when it came to going to school, Patience pursued her academic goals and passed her A Level with 12 points.

Still in pursuit of her academic goals, Patience tried to source for financial help from other people in order for her to enroll into University but no one came through for her. Life being difficult, she had no choice but to look for a job to support herself. In September 2017, a relative then took her in and she worked as a maid for them.

Patience managed to save the money that she got from her salary and in February 2018, she applied for enrollment at University of Zimbabwe and she was accepted. She used the money she had from her savings to pay for her first semester. Now that she was in school full-time, she could no longer work and she had no other means of financing her education.

Patience heard about Agape Family Care through Christ TV and she applied for a scholarship. In April 2019, she was granted a full scholarship by Agape Family Care. Patience will be undertaking her Honours Degree in Journalism and Media Studies and she will be completing her studies in 2023.
