AFC Donates To Childline Zimbabwe #GirlChildSheCan

In today’s world, many children are vulnerable to different kinds of abuse and due to their age; the victims, which in most cases are girls, are always in desperate need of a shoulder to lean on and a listening ear to help them.

As part of her campaign #GirlChildSheCan, Prophetess Ruth Makandiwa, through the Agape Family Care has stretched out her hands to help vulnerable children and mostly; the girl child. Prophetess Ruth Makandiwa donated a 2 ft. container and groceries to the Child Line Care Zimbabwe today; the 4th of February 2019 at the Child Line Care Zimbabwe offices in Eastlea, Harare, Zimbabwe.

The groceries included 18 cartons x 50 packets of sanitary pads, a carton of cooking oil, 5 boxes (24 x1kg) laundry bar soap, 5 cartons (12 x 150g) Bath soap, 5 cartons (10 x 1kg) salt, 5 cartons (10 x 2kg) sugar beans, 3 cartons (10 x 2kg) rice, 3 cartons (10 x 2kg) sugar, 4 cases tea bags and 1200 writing pens.

“Women and children, especially the girl child have become more vulnerable and Prophetess Ruth Makandiwa launched the #GirlChildSheCan campaign to be a voice of reason, progress and compassion and we are very happy to have partnered with Child Line Care Zimbabwe for this noble cause.”, Pastor Belinda Kwaramba, Agape Family Care representative said.

Speaking at the hand-over ceremony, the Director of Child Line Care Zimbabwe, Ms Stella Motsi said, “As Child Line Zimbabwe, we appreciate the work that you do as a church but most importantly we are very excited to realize that we have a church that cares for the young people in this community”

“As Child Line Zimbabwe we respond to calls made by children reporting abuse or anything that they might want to talk about so on average we receive 50 000 calls every single month and when we look at these statistics, these are actually very young people.

“We are very glad that Prophetess Ruth Makandiwa has taken our hand to walk with us through the journey of assisting our young people.”Ms Motsi added.

Mrs Dephine Jena, the Business Development and Information Officer for Child Line Care Zimbabwe also highlighted that this donation will go a long way assisting the construction and the set-up of their third call center and office in the Masvingo-Gutu region.
